Here at Suffolk Clinic we are busy keeping everyone on track with their marathon training, ready for the London Marathon! Especially Sophie Meszar who is running the marathon for two charities; Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel. Sophie completed work experience at Suffolk Clinic before going to university to train as a physiotherapist. We have a collection tin for her in the clinic, so any loose change is more than welcome!
At 48 my mum was too young to have her first NHS mammogram, but was lucky enough to be breast aware, she found a lump and wasted no time getting checked out. In 2011 she was given the shattering diagnosis of Stage 3 breast cancer. My mum was unbelievable, tackling everyday like a walk in the park. She had her breast removed, then chemo, radio and specialist target therapies later, she was told the good news she was in remission. She was clear for 5 years, then we got the shattering news something unusual had been found in her other breast. This time the cancer had been caught early enough that no other treatment apart from a mastectomy was needed. The treatment and early diagnosis has improved so much. The two charities I am running this year’s marathon for are very close to my heart.
From all at Suffolk Clinic we would you like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
If you are thinking of getting fit and back in exercise in the new year remember to start slow! Start slow and progress at your own pace, also make sure you give yourself recovery time.
We also have a new sports therapist that’s joined us, Jack Doran. He completed his undergrad degree in anatomy and then went on to complete his masters in Sports Therapy. Jack will be replacing Tom who is sadly leaving us.
Tom has been with us for the last 3 years so will be missed, however we would like to wish him all the best for his future adventures!
If you are struggling to think of gifts for your loved ones this Christmas, then treat them to a session here at Suffolk clinic. They can take advantage of speaking with one of our sports therapists and enjoy a treatment, which can include deep tissue massage, medical acupuncture and injury diagnosis/rehabilitation.
Our Christmas gift cards are on sale for £25, which entitles them to one treatment.

Here at Suffolk clinic we offer three different types of acupuncture; medical acupuncture, traditional acupuncture and dry needling. Medical acupuncture is used mainly used for pain relief and to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Tradition acupuncture is based on ancient principles, it used fine needles on certain points of the body to balance the flow on vital energy and restore the body's equilibrium. Dry needling treats mainly myofascial pain, the acupuncture needles are inserted into trigger points in the muscles to help relieve pain.
If you are not sure which type of treatment would suit your needs, then please contact the clinic on 02476 715535 and we shall guide you in the right direction
